WRITE THE SHIP 2026
ASSOCIATE EDITOR
As Associate Editor of Write the Ship, I am responsible for editing and reviewing our essay submissions. Write the Ship is Shippensburg University Undergraduate Journal of Academic Writing. Our collections feature various essays across the different colleges of education that show esteemed writing from students. In this role, I am responsible for ensuring the quality of the journal and ensuring its publication each academic school year.
As this year's associate editor, I was responsible for coordinating with both my Head Editor and Faculty Advisor to ensure the journal's completion. Due to my experience as Associate Editor for the past two years, I will be the Head Editor for the 2027 Edition of Write the Ship. In this role, I will be able to utilize my project management skills, which.
South Mountain Partnership Proposal
TEAM LEADER
South Mountain Partnership is a regional landscape conservation project in south-central Pennsylvania.
Originally launched in 2006, the Partnership operates as a public-private partnership between the DCNR, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. In addition, various businesses, non-profits, academic organizations, and local, state, and federal government agencies.
The State of the Region report serves as a living document created by SMP to highlight the region's challenges and the recommended actions suggested by SMP to ensure the sustainability of the South Mountain region.
As Team Leader, I was responsible for being a liaison with the South Mountain Partnership and meeting with them. In addition, I distributed work out to my fellow team members and ensured that our work would be completed within the allotted timeframe.
In addition to our proposal, we have completed six deliverables to condense the sections of the State of the Region Report into smaller and concise reports that highlight each section's main focus. These deliverables are featured in my Additional Work section.
This role offered me the opportunity to hone my skills in project management, as well as my professionalism when dealing with clients.
Minds at Work Conference
In addition to preparing a proposal for South Mountain Partnership, as a group, we were required to present at Minds at Work, which is an undergraduate research conference hosted at Shippensburg University.
This conference consists of a Poster Board Presentation, where my fellow group members and I all participated and attended to showcase the work we have done over the course of the semester.
At this conference, we presented our semester-long work, along with a poster explaining our work.
Our poster features all of the information about South Mountain Partnership, as well as our process and decision-making for each deliverable.
In addition, our poster also features our Time Management and Schedule that we followed to ensure each deliverable would be available for the client.
